Jurassic Park 4: Extinction

In 2009 people. Did you think that the dinosaurs were tired of harassing people? Not even close. This time, they are apparently going to riot in the city. Which city is yet to be seen, but speculation is New York. Great, first New York is frozen is The Day After Tomorrow and now it's going to be overrun by prehistoric reptiles with attitudes.

William Monahan will be penning the script and it should be a good story in terms of structure because he also wrote Kingdom of Heaven and The Departed. The same old silly actors will populate the screen: Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Richard Attenborough are all rumored (nothing is for sure yet).

There's not much on the Jurassic Park 4 IMDB page, except for the date and a few names associated with it right now. But hey, isn't that all we need for right now JP fans?

Stay tuned to this blog for updates.

Sex and the City Sequel?

It's very possible. With the huge weekend Sex and the City had, producers and those in the New Line circle are looking towards the future. Those producers are "exercising the sequel option in all of the stars’ contracts. They want it to be a franchise and think they can stretch it over at least a trilogy." (The Daily Mail). A trilogy? I can see it now: Sex and the City 2: Electric Boogaloo. And Sex and the City 3: Attack of Samantha's Bones. You know what I mean by "bones".

How successful could the sequels be? Probably not very. There is an installed Sex and the City fanbase and those fans will support those movies, but did you notice how dramatically the box office numbers went down? From $55 million to $21 million. If it doesn't even break the $100 million mark in a couple months, I think the producers should forget about any sequels. Despite liking the movie, I don't think a movie series of Sex and the City could prove as successful as The Matrix or The Lord of thh Rings. Check out my Sex and the City Review.

So if there are some sequels I have listed below some possible plot lines:

  • It's three more years later and Carrie and Big have two daughters together. Big has quit his job to become Mr. Mom and to pursue his dream of being a stand-up comedian.

  • Samantha becomes celibate. (Yeah, right.)

  • Charlotte and Harry start a burlesque act that involves a horse, a bike, and the occassional bag of peanuts.

  • Miranda becomes a cold, vindictive woman towards Steve. (Wait, that one's been done).

  • Miranda doesn't change.

I'm sure the producers have different ideas of how the sequels should go, but those would be cool. Honestly, I hope Samantha never gives up sex.

Army Wives Season 2 Premiere

For those who have been waiting for years it seems, the season 2 premiere of Army Wives finally arrived. Last season ended with Marilyn's husband walking into a bar strapped with munitions and holding a hand grenade.

You probably figured he would complete the mission of jealousy and take care of business. The entire episode was wrapped around Pamela's radio show. She spouted off little wisdoms about strength and courage and the need for friends as the rest of the show revealed who had that wisdom and who didn't. It was a very emotional show as you find out who got hurt, how they were dealing with it and who died. I did find the little breaks of Pam's mini-soapbox annoying. I wanted more of the dramatics without her narration. This part of the show was lazy writing to me. Another subtly aggravating part to the show was Roxy. She was frustrated that she hadn't heard from her husband who had been deployed, but she wouldn't leave her house. She was very angry throughout the show, but then all of a sudden, Pam and Denise come over for five minutes and Roxy's all fine now. I felt her emotion was switched off too quickly.

Someone critical to the show dies. It would be a disastrous spoiler to tell you who does, so I won't. If you are a true fan, it should be on your DVR right now if you haven't watched it yet. There are some tear moments as well as some humor so if you saw all six episodes from last season you will have no problem settling in.

Overall, a good start to the season. From the previews, this season looks to be intense.
